My Name is Lauren Main-Robson. I am currently an III degree black belt in Taekwondo and a black belt in kickboxing.

I started me taekwondo journey when I was eight years old because I was bullied in school, I wanted to learn self-defence and build my self-confidence. I fell in love with taekwondo instantly and started competing across the UK in many competitions. I became multiple times ITF British, Welsh, Scottish and English champion within my category and as a result I was selected to be a member of the ITF Wales Team.  Representing wales provided opportunities to travel the world and compete internationally in many tournaments. My biggest achievements was ranking second in the ITF European championships in Croatia and third in the ITF world championships in Uzbekistan.

I wanted to become an Olympian like many other athletes in taekwondo so I took part in the 2012 Olympic fighting chance program which allowed me win a bronze medal the BTCB British TKD international championships and compete next Olympians including MBE Jade Jones, Bianca Walkden and many more but unfortunately the dream ended as I had to stop training in 2011 due to sustaining serious injury.

In 2016 I decided to return to taekwondo and become an instructor under taekwondo wales, by returning to taekwondo and currently serving in the Royal Navy I was selected to represent the Royal Navy in taekwondo and compete in the Armed Forces championships. I became Armed Forces champion 2017 both in WTF and ITF taekwondo.

I aim to make everyone who joins Taekwondo Wales Port Talbot very welcome and a part of our taekwondo family instantly. My lessons are fun, exciting and varied.  I believe my classes have an edge because I know what is needed to make a champion.

Taekwondo has opened many doors and life changing opportunities for myself.

It could do the same for you!!
